In one of his works, John Ruskin wrote of the many and delightful views that greet the eye going up the hill towards Fiesole, with Florence grey in the distance, with the sun behind her and extraordinary waving hills beyond the city.

LE CANNELLE Bed & Breakfast is located at Via A. Gramsci 52 in the heart of the old village of Fiesole, about 100 meters from Piazza Mino and the town hall. It is easily reached from the Florence railroad station via the number 7 bus.
Totally rebuilt, (you can see the rose-colored walls as soon as you leave the piazza), Le Cannelle has five charming and different rooms. Each one is beautifully furnished, air conditioned, with private bath, phone and TV.
A cozy breakfast room and efficient reception complete this small, comfortable establishment that is ideal for the discriminating visitor, far from the city's noise.

LE CANNELLE Bed & Breakfast si trova in Via A. Gramsci 52 nel cuore dell'antico borgo di Fiesole, a circa 100 metri da Piazza Mino e dal comune. Si raggiunge agevolmente dalla stazione di Firenze con l'autobus n. 7.
Completamente ristrutturato, (la sua facciata rosa è visibile non appena superata la piazza principale), Le Cannelle ha cinque incantevoli stanze tutte differenti, con meravigliosi arredi, aria condizionata, bagno annesso, telefono e TV.
Una deliziosa breakfast room e un'efficiente reception completano questo piccolo, confortevole affittacamere, ideale per rilassarsi lontani dal caos cittadino.

Fiesole

An ancient village perched on a hillside that is eternally green with cypress and larch trees, Fiesole dates from the Etruscan period. During the roman era it grew enormously, and the huge walls, amphitheater and baths are still there today as proof of past splendors.
Fiesole and its citizens are proud of the fact that they have their own mayor and bishop, and an autonomous cultural life. The town overlooks Florence, affording splendid view from the Monastery of S. Francesco, or from the belvedere on Via Verdi. Seen from above Florence is indeed superb: "it takes on an order and proportions that make it one of the most beautiful cities in the world2 (George van Straten). But even the view from the other side of the old town are magnificent, here the hills, clad in olive groves are gentle and rolling. In the background, cypress and pine forests are surrounded by soft, bluish light - a living Renaissance fresco.

Antico borgo arrampicato su una collina sempre verde di cipressi e lecci, Fiesole ha origini etrusche. Durante l'epoca romana si sviluppò enormemente e le vaste mura, l'anfiteatro e i bagni sono ancor'oggi lì a testimoniare i passati splendori.
Fiesole e i suoi cittadini sono orgogliosi di avere un un suo sindaco e un suo vescovo, nonché un'autonoma vita culturale. Il paese sovrasta Firenze, e offre splendide vedute dal Monastero di S. Francesco, o dal belvedere in Via Verdi. Vista dall'alto, Firenze è davvero meravigliosa: "Assume l'ordine e le proporzioni che ne fanno una delle città più belle del mondo. (Giorgio van Straten)". Ma anche le vedute da altri luoghi dell'antico borgo sono splendide, qui le colline, tappezzate di ulivi, si fanno dolci e morbide e, sullo sfondo, boschi di cipressi e pini sono circondati di soffusa luce azzurrina: un affresco rinascimentale.

BY CARIN AUTO

Hwy A1 exit: Firenze Sud follow direction to Fiesole;
Hwy A11 exit: Firenze Nord follow direction for "Viali Circonvallazione" (the perimeter of the centre) and "Stadio" (stadium) then "Fiesole". When you get to the square of Fiesole (there's a bell tower) go straight on the main street and you'll find us after 150/200 mts. on the right side, a pink decorated building, opposite an old bronze fountain, at the number 52/54 of Via Gramsci. You could leave your car on pay parkings along the main street, just for few minutes and then I'll show you where to park nearby the B&B and how to get there.

Si consiglia di uscire dalla A1 a Firenze Sud per poi seguire le indicazioni per Fiesole.
Oppure uscire dalla A11 a Firenze Nord, seguire le indicazioni per "viali di circonvallazione", "centro" o "stadio" per poi seguire quelle per Fiesole. Appena arrivati nella piazza del campanile proseguite a dritto sulla strada principale e cercate parcheggio perché siete già nei pressi del B&B. Potete parcheggiare nei posti a pagamento, basteranno pochi minuti di sosta. Vi mostrerò io dove sono i parcheggi liberi e come arrivarci.

BY TRAIN / BUSIN TRENO / BUS

When you get to the train station Firenze Santa Maria Novella (SMN) go just outside the station, left exit, there is Largo Alinari, here you will find the stop / terminus of bus number 7 (frequency 15 min on weekdays) in just 20 -30 minutes will arrive exactly in the square of Fiesole (there’s a bell tower), enjoy the journey and the view to get to Fiesole! Go straight on the main street and you'll find us after 150/200 meters on the right side, a pink decorated building at the number 52/54 of Via Gramsci. (Bus tickets 1,50 Euro/valid 90 minutes).

Appena fuori dalla stazione di Firenze Santa Maria Novella (SMN), con i binari alle spalle, uscita di sinistra, c’è Largo Alinari, qui troverete la fermata /capolinea dell’autobus numero 7 (frequenza giorni feriali 15 min) in soli 20-30 minuti arriverà esattamente nella Piazza di Fiesole dove fa nuovamente capolinea, godetevi il tragitto e la vista per arrivare a Fiesole! Proseguendo a piedi lungo la strada principale ci troverete dopo 200 metri circa sulla vostra destra in un palazzo rosa decorato, di fronte ad un fontanello in bronzo. (Biglietti autobus 1,50 Euro/validità 90 minuti).

BY PLANEIN AEREO

From the Aeroporto Vespucci of Florence take the tramvia service number T2 to "Alamanni" stop (11 stops). Reach on foot Piazza Adua (2 minutes) where you can take the bus number 7. Your last stop will be Fiesole Piazza Mino. A bus every 30 minutes. 20 minutes journey by bus. (one ticket 1,50 Euro/valid 90 minutes).

Dall'Aeroporto Vespucci di Firenze è attiva la linea tramvia T2, dopo 11 fermate scendete alla fermata "Alamanni". Raggiungete a piedi Piazza Adua (2 minuti a piedi) dove potete prendere il bus numero 7 per raggiungere così Piazza Mino a Fiesole. Il bus c'è ogni 30 minuti circa. 20 minuti di viaggio sul bus. (1 biglietto unico 1,50 euro/valido 90 minuti)
